Proverbs 31 clearly described the rare qualities of a good wife who is equally a good mother. She is an ideal wife, a virtuous, a loving, caring and compassionate mother. She is loyal, trustworthy, tolerant, merry, capable and strong. She is hard-working, supportive and understanding. She is patient and persevering. She keeps her home in order and takes care of her household.

Above and more are the rare qualities of the Mother Teresa of our time, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, First Lady of Ebonyi State.

She wakes up each day to the words of one-time famous American President, Winston Churchill, "we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give".

Giving by the way of humanitarian services brings hope and extends life.

This is the adventure Her Excellency, Nneoha Ebonyi, our beloved First Lady embarked on as the Mother of the state.

Through her Pet Project, Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO) Foundation, she recorded tremendous achievements within a short period of two years.

- Donation of N2m and gifts to all babies delivered in the state on the New Year annually.

- Payment of hospital bills for indigent patients in the 13 General Hospitals in the state, including those at the Alex Ekwueme University Teaching Hospital (AE-FETHA), Abakaliki.

- Registration of over 700 pregnant women into the Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency (EBSHIA) to receive free antenatal and delivery services.

- Free Cancer Screening and Treatment for hundreds of Ebonyians.

- Fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV), Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Human Trafficking and Child Labour.

- Free Screening and Treatment for Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Free Blood Pressure Check and Weight Measurement across the 13 General Hospitals in the state.

- Empowerment of Women, Youths and Students with Agricultural Farm Tools in the State under the Renewed Hope Initiative (Women and Youths) Agricultural Support Programs. 100 women selected from the 13 Local Government Areas of the State were empowered with N1m each.

- Building of Bungalows for Some Indigent Widows in the State.

Our dear First Lady has been working assiduously to complement the efforts of her beloved husband and our dear Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in reshaping the state and changing its narrative for good.

Her humanitarian services and care for the poor, underprivileged and vulnerable Ebonyians have earned her numerous meritorious awards, such as:

1. Best Performing First Lady in Nigeria by the African Iconic Recognition Award 2024.

2. SUN First Lady of the Year 2025 among other deserving merit awards.

Today, the good people of Ezza North Local Government Area will stand in ovation and sing eulogies as we warmly welcome Our diligent, industrious, loving, caring and compassionate First Lady to the fertile land to the Commissioning of 2 magnificent 3 - bedroom bungalows she built for two indigent widows in the Local

Government Council.
